BCL Homes, Based in Hampstead, Built Through Friendship
BCL Homes, based in Hampstead NC, was founded by Trent Talbert and Jeff Pitts through their years of friendship.
Trent Talbert has deep roots in the community that extends back many generations. The vision to develop what once was his family’s farmland was realized when Trent and Jeff, an experienced custom home builder from Hampstead, formed a partnership to build quality homes that they would be proud to put their names on.

Trent Talbert
Managing Partner/Broker
Trent Talbert is a lifetime resident of Hampstead NC, only leaving for a short time to attend UNC Chapel Hill. After graduating, Trent found success in the multi-generational family business of farming, with livestock, row crops and timber. While still maintaining the farm, he pivoted some of his attention to land development, residential construction and real estate. With tremendous work, determination and his strong character, BCL Homes has become the company it is today.
In his free time, you will likely find Trent on his boat, fishing or traveling with family and friends. He volunteers his time and experience to several local committees and boards and is active in the church he grew up in.
Jeff Pitts
Managing Partner/Builder
Jeff Pitts moved to the Wilmington area in the early 90’s from NH and then to Hampstead in 2004. From an early age, he was determined to be a home builder. He started his first company at the age of 20 which specialized in home and property maintenance. A few years later, the projects had grown larger and more complex and Custom Design Builders Inc was formed. He obtained his NC Building license by the time he was 24. For the next several years he specialized in home renovations and additions. His goal was to ultimately build homes. By 26, he was able to venture into the custom home market. In the years spent repairing issues in homes both old and new, he learned what works and what doesn’t. As the son of a builder and engineer, he enjoyed the challenge of building individual “one-of-a-kind” homes that required problem-solving. After the forming of BCL Homes, he continued for several years on the custom side until it was clear that his full attention was best placed on BCL Homes.
In his free time, you will likely find him on a piece of equipment moving dirt, on the water with family and friends, or spending time outdoors. He volunteers his time and experience to local committees and boards.
Tammy Richard
Office Manager
Tammy Richard joined BCL Homes in 2022 as the office manager. A long-time area resident, Tammy grew up in Wilmington but has been a Hampstead resident since 2015. She holds an associate’s degree in accounting from Miller-Motte. Tammy has always had a passion for home construction as her dad and brothers were skilled carpenters. Growing up in the construction business, she possesses a distinct understanding and insight into what the other team members may need for each of them to be successful in their roles. In her free time, you will likely find Tammy spending time with family and friends at home or camping. She is a proud wife, mother of three, and grandmother of two.
Ron Barrow
Project Manager
Ron Barrow joined BCL Homes in 2023 as a project manager. Spending most of his life in eastern NC, he became a Hampstead resident in 2022. Starting his first career in 1980, Ron spent 40 years in the retail building products industry. It was during this time he obtained his NC General Contractors license and built many homes in different markets. Retiring in 2020 and building his personal “forever home” in 2022, Ron realized he missed the building part of the business and became an integral part of the BCL Homes team. Building is certainly his passion. Ron “does not build houses he builds homes”. He loves the process from plans to finished product and it shows. In his free time, you will find Ron enjoying time with his wife, children or grandchildren. He likes to fish and travel from time to time.
Michael Witkowski
Lead Carpenter
Michael Witkowski joined BCL Homes in 2023 as our lead carpenter. Although only officially since 2023, Mike has played an important role in ensuring the build quality is up to our standards from the very first BCL Home in 2017. Moving to Surf City in the late 90’s from upstate NY, he enjoyed a successful career as a framing contractor. Mike’s framing ability, problem-solving skills, and four decades of knowledge in the building industry are what distinguish him from the crowd. Mike is a proud husband with eight children and five grandchildren. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with friends and family, helping out with the Boy Scouts, and is active in his church.
